We learned so much this week working with our Staging STEMS guests.  While creating fractions with our bodies.  We reviewed basic fractional concepts like parts of a whole and dived into more challenging concepts like comparing fractions, simplifying fractions, adding/subtracting fractions, and multiplying/dividing fractions.  Oh what we learn we we have to work together to solve problems and create the solution with our bodies.  Check us out...

We learned a lot this week during our science lab on craters on the moon!

Daily 5 has been going great in our classroom!  We love the responsibility and flexibility we have throughout the week!  

Congratulations on being selected for student council!

What an amazing learning experience!  We are so fortunate to participate in hatching chickens at QVE!  While learning about the scientific process, we are able to visit the science lab and test our scientific skills - researching how to care for our chicken eggs, recording data, and making a hypothesis about their growth and development based on our observations. 

Our first day as a class bonding with the "toothpaste activity."  The toothpaste is like our words, once they are out they can never completely be taken away.  Once the toothpaste was squirted out it would not ALL go back into the tube.  Words are powerful!  They shape the lives of those around us.  We can choose to give life and death through our words.  

What a wonderful welcome to QVE!! While getting our classroom ready I was excited to find a sweet treat from the other teachers! I look forward to an amazing year!
